Back in 2014 I joined the opening class of Ruth Soukup’s Elite Blog Academy. I was hesitant to sign up for a couple of reasons. In fact, because of my hesitations I waited until the evening of the very last day to sign up.
If you are thinking about enrolling, I hope my Elite Blog Academy review will help you decide if EBA 4.0 right for you.
If you have any interest at all in Elite Blog Academy, be sure to get on the wait list. The course only opens up once a year, so you need to be on the wait list to hear about when that happens. The best part is that Ruth Soukup, the course creator sends amazing emails that will help you build your blog in the meantime. Her emails are a gold mine of experience and encouragement. It’s definitely worth it!
Because I was so impressed with the course and experienced the benefits of it, I chose to be an affiliate for the course. That means that if you choose to sign up for the course through my link, I will receive a commission. As a blogger helping to provide an income for my family, I really appreciate those commissions. Elite Blog Academy will help you make an awesome blog, increase traffic, and monetize effectively so that you can start earning from your blog too!
That being said, please know that my words are sincere. This is an honest review of Elite Blog Academy. I would not waste my time (or take the risk of) promoting something that I didn’t love or believe in.

What Was Holding Me Back?
So what was holding me back in the first place? Two big things:
Price
The first big thing that was holding me back was the price (well, mostly what my husband would think of the price). To this day, Elite Blog Academy was the biggest chunk of change I have spent at one time on any blog expenses. The course’s current price is $897!
Having read Ruth’s book How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul, I knew that she was an authority on the subject and had a clear and relatable way of teaching. The book came out just after I had started my blog, so I was able to put her advice into practice from the beginning. I knew that her method worked and I wanted to learn more from her.
With that background, I knew that the course would be worth the money, but I was afraid of what my husband would think of spending that much money on a blogging course. We are in the midst of paying off huge student loan debt and every extra penny is going toward that debt. Would he see this as an investment like I did?
In hindsight, I don’t know why I was worried. My husband is my biggest fan and supports everything I do. When I mentioned to him that I was thinking about signing up for Elite Blog Academy, he enthusiastically said “You should do it!” And I did!
Timing
The other reason that I was hesitant was that I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and was not feeling well! I had enough trouble writing and posting my regular blog content, yet alone growing and expanding my blog. I didn’t know if I would have enough time (and energy) to dedicate to the course in order to see results. My initial understanding was that the “class” would be moving together at a pace of one unit a week for 12 weeks.
The good news was that the course is completely self-paced. With a pregnancy and newborn in the past year (not to mention taking care of my three other kiddos), I took the slow route. I took my time with each assignment instead of rushing though. I wanted to be sure to do it right. In fact, there are still some units and assignments that I haven’t completed, like launching a product (I’ll have an ebook coming soon) and reaching out directly to brands. I’m glad I have unlimited, lifetime access to the course materials.
Was Elite Blog Academy worth it?
The big question, right?
Absolutely!
In the first year after taking EBA I more than doubled my income and my pageviews. I know the numbers will continue to grow as I continue to implement what Ruth teaches. There is still so much I am learning from EBA.
The videos are motivating, informative, and professionally done. There is no fluff. I watched many of them multiple times. The workbook units and handouts are full of valuable information. The assignments are all productive and useful, not busy-work.
Another reason I was not afraid to spend money on this course was the guarantee. Elite Blog Academy has a complete money-back guarantee. If after completing the course and doing all of the assignments you do not experience a marked increase in traffic and income, you can get a full refund. Ruth is that sure that Elite Blog Academy will work for you.
Exceptions
If you are not sure if you’re going to stick with blogging (it’s a lot of work, there’s no doubt about that!), then this might not be the right time to invest in Elite Blog Academy. You can still get on their email list, so when registration opens next time you will be notified. When you sign up for the waiting list you’ll be able to download 120 Awesome Blog Post Ideas. That should keep you busy writing blog content for quite a while!
Also, if you just don’t have the money in your budget for Elite Blog Academy, then I wouldn’t do it. Get on the waiting list so you can hear about future promotions and class openings. Start prioritizing your budget to set money aside so that you can invest in EBA the next time the course opens.
I am so glad I invested in Elite Blog Academy!
